La Belle Créole was supposed to be a luxury resort, a small France in the Caribbean. It’s origins date back to year 1964 when a well-known hotelier Claudius Charles Philippe decided to realize his dream on the island of Saint Martin. Another breakthrough year was 1995 when Hurricane Luis passed through Saint Martin and seriously damaged the resort. The owners decided not to reopen it and has been slowly decaying since then.
